Our last concert was at the end of March 2026 in Sudbury Arts Centre and the programme was all film music related in the first half and a tenuous (it has to be said) film related work in teh 2nd half. In teh first half we performed the film music with young rising stars as our soloists. We had - Viktors Tale wonderful clarinet solo from Terminal, the violin solo from Morricone's Cinema Paradiso and the violin solo from Schindlers List PLUS Gershwin's Promenade Walking the Dog from the 1937 film Shall We Dance.
And to round off the evening we slipped in a work you robably did not know, Lars Erik Larsson's Third Symphony - while this work is not film related Larsson wrote a fair amount of film music so we thought it jsut about qualified for the concert on those grounds. And it qualified anyway as it is a really interesting work - check it out here. We played the symphony in a workshop and we definitely gave it the thumbs up and we hope you do too.
Our young soloists did themselves proud performing to a packed audience who thoroughly enjoyed their very high standard playing. We are sure they will be performing with us again.
